Legendary rock frontman Chris Cornell was found dead inside of his hotel room in Detroit on May 17. His death was the result of a suicide by hanging, the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office said. The medical examiner’s office didn’t provide any additional details, and a full autopsy report isn’t yet available. Cornell, 52, is survived by his wife of 13 years — Vicky Karayiannis — and his three children. Cornell was found dead inside of his MGM Grand hotel room in Detroit just hours after playing a sold-out show with Soundgarden on May 17 at the Fox Theatre. Cornell was best known for his time as the lead singer of Soundgarden, and later Audioslave. He was on tour with Soundgarden at the time of his death.
